FR stands for freeride, and that's what you should do with this bike. A new Thunderbird FR frame sits on 27.5″ wheels, because these are easier to get these days than 26″. Spiral or air - it's your choice of what you want to play with. We designed it for laps in the bike park with friends choosing double black diamonds for a warm-up run. It's a progressive and stiff as hell platform ready to be braked, hucked, and mis-treated regularly. Thunderbird FR pedals just right to keep the sweat off your body during beer runs, while its suspension remains responsive enough to keep you from catching a cold. At least, that's what our R&D team says. 180 mm rear travel and up to 200 mm front travel, with geometry that fits a 29-inch front wheel, means you can easily pair it with a dual crown fork and keep eyes away from your fancy mullet. With a great price-to-build ratio, you can easily save on a bike and travel more!

To keep the frame trouble-free, all pivot points operate on rigid axles mounted on sealed Max-type bearings. The progressive suspension design is perfect for both types of shock absorbers: spring shock absorbers and large-volume air shock absorbers. The construction also reduces the negative impact of braking on suspension performance. The head tube is compatible with the new generation 1.8″ tapered forks with 68-69mm crown plates and the dropout is compatible with the SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH).
